Murfreesboro City Schools Announces New Leadership

Murfreesboro City Schools announces the addition of three assistant principals for the2026-27 school year. Mrs. Carissa Crismon has been named assistant principal at Bradley Academy, where she will serve alongside Principal Jeremy Lewis. In her new role, Crismon will help lead instructional programs and support student achievement initiatives.

Serving Hope from the Trunk of a Car to 20 Years of Impact: Celebrating Geneva Poss

Geneva Poss began her journey with The Journey Home in 2006 as a volunteer serving meals from the trunk of her car. As donations grew, she became a full-time staff member, spending two decades showing God’s love to everyone she met.

VIProfile: Scott Foster

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Scott Foster, founder and executive director of The Journey Home, moved in 1990 to Nashville for a job in corporate America. However, the seed of his desire to help those who need a hand up in life was planted when he had a religious experience during high school. It took 22 years for that seed to bear fruit, but when God called a second time, Foster went into action. The result is The Journey Home.

In June 2016, Alex Taylor, M.D. and his wife Kristen moved to Murfreesboro from Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Taylor, originally from Nashville, had just finished medical school at University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama Medical Center.

Braxton Head, a rising senior who attends Rutherford County Virtual School and competes for Blackman High School, has been putting in extra practice time on his already impressive practice schedule as he gears up for his first national exposure at the 78th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
