Marina’s on the Square has been a staple in Murfreesboro for over 35 years. Doug Duross took over the restaurant 28 years ago and has continued the tradition of serving great Italian food to this community.
Under the managerial leadership of Amanda Tankersly, the restaurant graciously offered to showcase the work of a local artist, Bob Cameron.
Bob enjoyed his career with Nissan and the Chrysler Corporation. Upon retiring, he has marinated his own creative justices by teaching himself to play the piano, turning amazing wooden bowls, and painting beautiful pictures, all inspired by moments in his day, his yard and his family.
When Bob’s wife, Susan Gendrich, wanted a big apple painting for the kitchen wall, he went to his workshop, sequestered himself for a couple days, and “Voila” he came out with a series of paintings he refers to as the Cosmic Fruit.
Bob is grateful to Marina’s for the opportunity to inspire others to continue enriching their lives throughout retirement! Bob and his family, with assistance from Marina's, is proud to display his creativity for the months of September and October.
This showcase is a pilot endeavor. Marina’s hopes to continue supporting local artists by providing a space to showcase their work.
Thanks Marina’s!
