SPECIAL NIGHT FOR STONES RIVER CHAPTER MEMBER, JACK MCELWAIN

On July 10th at the Stones River Chapter (Sons of the American Revolution), Jack McElwain was recognized by the Sons of the American Revolution, the BSA Trail of Tears District, and the State of Tennessee for his longtime service to the Scouting community. During the meeting, BSA Field Director, Phillip Heikkinen, shared how McElwain’s work and philanthropy resulted in the Stones River Chapter receiving the Robert E. Prytula Award. This was followed by TNSSAR President Elect, Harlan Dabney, presenting McElwain the prestigious National SAR Robert E. Burt Boy Scout Volunteer Award. Since the inception of the award, McElwain is only the seventh person from Tennessee to receive this honor. Then, Tennessee State Representative (from McElwain’s District 49), Mike Sparks, presented McElwain with a legislative proclamation from the Tennessee General Assembly acknowledging McElwain outstanding work in Scouting, grief counseling, and the promotion of civics and patriotism.
