Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital is pleased to announce that its stroke program has been recertified by The Joint Commission, the healthcare industry’s most prestigious accrediting and standards-setting entity. Since first securing the designation of “Advanced Primary Stroke Center” in 2007, Saint Thomas Rutherford has maintained this status by meeting the requirements of biennial on-site surveys led by outside reviewers from The Joint Commission.

Charles N. King Joins the Town of Smyrna as the Town Engineer

Brian D. Hercules, Town Manager, is pleased to announce Charles N. King as the new engineer for the Town of Smyrna. King assumed this role on November 4th. The engineer will be tasked with providing consultation to the Town Manager and council members on new development activities. “Smyrna is a rapidly growing community,” noted Hercules.

Good Samaritan Pays for Pets' Adoption Fees at Local Shelter

A Rutherford County couple has paid for almost all adoption fees of the cats and dogs at the Pet Adoption & Welfare Services (PAWS) shelter.PAWS Animal Specialist, Baileigh Back, says the couple came up to her and simply wanted to help all the pets at the shelter find homes. “I went over the adoption fees of all the pets, and without hesitation they requested to pay for the fees of all the pets that were currently up for adoption,” says Baileigh Back.

Children of Fallen Soldiers to Receive Christmas Presents

S.O.S. (Season of Sacrifice) Christmas is a pilot program that started in 2018 serving these special children with Christmas presents. We are excited to announce that we will be back in New York for the second year to serve even more children than last year! (SOS Christmas 2018)American citizens will be given the opportunity to sponsor a family, beginning November 1st, and drop presents off to an ASC drop-off location on December 14th.
