MORE THAN A SHIRT: HOW ‘GOD CAN’ BECAME A MOVEMENT

Recently the staff of Trendy Pieces, Bella’s Boutique and The Marketplace Home & Gift surprised Melanie Davenport by all wearing GOD can shirts on her birthday. Trendy Pieces first printed GOD can shirts around 10 years ago, mainly as fundraiser for Endure Athletics. After selling the shirts for several years, the store took a break from stocking them. However, when Melanie Davenport was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in August of 2024, they knew it was time to bring back the shirts! Mel calls it the “God can movement.” They have shipped shirts all over the United States and have had tremendous support from the local community. The idea is that everyone can use a dose of GOD can- no matter what they are going through. Throughout her treatment, the staff, family and friends have felt God’s presence. Mel continues to heal and have faith! To purchase GOD can shirts and stickers, go to The Marketplace Home & Gift in downtown Murfreesboro.
