Miles traveled adding into the thousands, a wardrobe heavily accented with a single color, and crazy adventures that land one in jail are the stories that “Big Fans” tell with pride. Something like the fisherman, the tales just keep getting bigger the later the season goes on.

VA Hosts Relationship Enhancement Workshops for Veterans and their Intimate Partners

The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) continues its relationship enhancement support to Veterans and their intimate partners through free workshops focused on improving communication. The free one-day workshops, which will be offered in Nashville and Murfreesboro, are designed to strengthen communication skills. The workshops are appropriate for happy or distressed couples who have been in a relationship for at least 6 months.

Critically Ill: Healthcare in TN Working Towards a Better Prognosis

Not too long ago, State Senator Shane Reeve’s office sent out the results from a study they had just completed on the state of health in Tennessee. Their diagnosis: Not good. Tennessee ranks above average in diabetes, poor mental health, low weight babies, infant mortality, arthritis, obesity, depression, hypertension, lung cancer, number of smokers, and heart attacks.

Garage Barre + Bike

You may have noticed the corner of Church St and Vine St on Murfreesboro’s downtown square looks a little different. What once was an empty building with a black coat of paint now features a pink-and-white striped wall (that you’ve probably seen photographed on social media.) Inside these striped walls are barres, bikes, and a community that is flipping the idea of a “boutique fitness studio” completely upside down.

Saint Thomas Medical Partners Receives Komen Central TN Grant

Saint Thomas Medical Partners (STMP) is honored to accept a $69,972 grant for Our Missionin Motion (OMIM). The mobile mammography program has screened 21,111 women at 1,420 events since 2011. OMIM prioritizes uninsured, low-income women in historically underserved communities.

Charlie Patel is well-known throughout Rutherford County for not only his philanthropy, but also the various business ventures for which he has been involved, mainly his businesses in the retail beverage industry. Charlie and his wife of 20 years, Bina Patel, have one 16-year-old daughter, Isha Patel, and a son, Shaan Patel, who is 14.

VIP at Home: at 1715 Riverview

Dr. George and Lynn Lien moved to Murfreesboro several years ago when George was hired by a Nashville medical practice to oversee their Murfreesboro facility — just prior to the “boom.” As they raised their family, they watched the area grow miraculously, and looking back, they are thankful they made the decision to come to Murfreesboro all those years ago, in the early 1990s.
