Donnie McKnight

Construction in and around Rutherford County has changed a lot since the 1970’s, and Donnie McKnight has been here to see it all. With over 45 years of experience in the Murfreesboro area, Donnie knows a thing or two about building.

Donnie worked with a track builder for seven years (building up to 100 homes per year). That experience made him realize that he preferred a more hands-on approach, and he wanted to be a part of the personal experience that comes along with building a custom home. So he ventured out on his own.

Today, Donnie loves what he does as much as he did the first time he built a custom home. If you ask anyone who’s home Donnie has built, they will be quick to tell you that he combines a unique organizational ability with incredible communication to make you feel like your home is as important as if he were building it for himself. “Hands-on” is an understatement, as he and his staff are there with you every step of the way. McKnight Builders, LLC is a family owned and operated company. Donnie’s wife, Linda is the office manager. His son, Jason is project manager. His years of experience and caring has made his subcontractors like family, too. So together, the team is able to perform at a top-notch level.

Born and raised in Rutherford County and coming from a farming family, Donnie’s high level of integrity and hard work comes very naturally. The McKnight family name has been known for decades to represent trust and reliability.

In Donnie’s spare time he enjoys time at home with his wife, Linda (they just celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary!) as well as his son Jason, daughter-in-law Tonya, and dogs Maggie May, Otis T, and Sir Barks-A-Lot.

He also enjoys fishing, kayaking, cooking on the grill and gathering with family and Linda & Donnie McKnight friends around a relaxing fire in his firepit.
