19th Annual Excellence in Education

Foundation Director Lisa Trail, her staff, event chairs Kim Young and Emily Flood, along with their committee, delivered an outstanding Excellence in Education presentation to a large group of supporters. Before enjoying an Italian dinner at Macca Villa Event Venue, guests mingled and networked outside in perfect March weather over cocktails and appetizers. After opening remarks by Foundation Chair Eric Newell and City Schools Director Dr. Trey Duke, community leader Rev. Martha Touchton was honored, joining a list of civic leaders recognized by the Foundation in previous years. A video about Rev. Touchton followed her remarks. The evening included both live and silent auctions.

Established in 2005, the Foundation works to boost financial support for the City School system—focusing on science and mathematics, academic competitions, student achievement and promoting financial equity among all schools.
