TriStar Stonecrest Medical Center is the First Hospital in TN to achieve Hernia Accreditation

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center has recently achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery. Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) has recognized TriStar StoneCrest for providing the highest quality of care.

This accreditation distinguishes TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center from many other surgical facilities by providing the highest quality of care to patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

As Tennessee’s first accredited Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery, TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center offers access to the most advanced robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques to repair hernias in the region.

Through our comprehensive approach to treatment in both routine and complex hernia surgeries, TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center and our team of nationally recognized surgeons are committed to assuring our patients receive high quality care and advanced medical treatment while benefitting from small incisions, less pain, and faster recovery.

“We understand that what matters most to patients at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is providing the absolute best healthcare possible while treating each patient with compassion and understanding. That is why we have made a commitment to accreditation and to positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes. TriStar StoneCrest is proud to receive accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery from SRC as it recognizes the knowledge, teamwork and dedication of our entire hospital staff,” said Joe Gleason, Chief Operating Officer at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center.

Willie V. Melvin, III, MD, FACS, and Joshua Taylor, MD, FACS, general surgeons with The Surgical Clinic and an essential partner of the Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, achieved accreditation as Master Surgeons in Hernia Surgery. This achievement means that Dr. Melvin and Dr. Taylor have met nationally and internationally recognized standards. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous requirements and inspection process are granted accreditation.

“We’re proud to recognize TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center for their commitment to advancing and providing quality care for all patients,” said Gary M. Pratt, CEO of SRC. “This accreditation signals that this hospital is among the best in this specialty and is dedicated to delivering the highest level of care possible.”
