Siegel Middle School Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Week

Siegel Middle School honored Breast Cancer Awareness Week by selling wristbands for a $1 and pink ribbons that honor someone they know. Students raised $500 plus had a Pink Out Day!! They chose to give the funds to “The Power of Pink” organization, which is partnered with Ascension St. Thomas Hospital. The hospital foundation supports a mobile mammography unit that helps give mammograms to women around Rutherford and other nearby counties who may not be able to get to the doctor regularly.

Siegel Middle Students are very aware of the importance of early detection due to several teachers and staff as well as their own family members who have been touched by this disease. The showed their support through a very successful fundraiser!
