Jane Jones and Mary Ann Richardson opened their business together, a unique antiques and gift store, in 1972. Amazingly, that was 47 years ago and since that time they have expanded into a full-time design center with 8,000 square feet of furniture, home accessories and fine gifts.

In addition to great support from their local clients over the decades, Jones and Richardson have had inspiration and help from several folks in their professional lives. Both ladies are appreciative of Jerome Farris for his expertise, friendship, and loyalty over the years. “Jerome is a vital part of our business and our family. We attribute so much of our success to him” they said. “We are also incredibly grateful to our customers who have allowed us to serve them for 47 years.”

Though they’ve experienced amazing success as a result of their talents and hard work, Jones and Richardson have also, of course, faced various challenges over the years and they have met them all head on. In speaking to the current challenges associated with having a local business downtown, they say the biggest challenge they’ve overcome is related to the growth of Murfreesboro as well as E-commerce.

“We strive to have the most unique offerings for our customers,” they said. “Shopping locally keeps our tax dollars in our community.”
