Dr. Andy Brown to Be Honored at The City Schools Foundation’s 18th Annual Celebration of Excellence in Education

The City Schools Foundation is proud to honor Dr. Andy Brown, a community leader and lifelong advocate for children, at the 18th Annual Excellence in Education Celebration. The event will take place on April 11, 2025, at Copper Ridge and will highlight Dr. Brown’s profound contributions to education, healthcare, and the children of Murfreesboro.

Dr. Brown, a retired pediatrician with over three decades of service at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Chief Medical Officer for Ascension St. Thomas, has been an unwavering champion for children. His personal story of how public education shaped his family’s life is both heartfelt and inspirational, reflecting his deep belief in its transformative power.

Beyond his medical career, Dr. Brown has been a pivotal force in the Murfreesboro community. His philanthropic and community service work has made him a leader in addressing the needs of children and families in both education and healthcare.

Dr. Brown has served the community in impactful ways, including as a member of the Murfreesboro City School Board, a medical missionary and as the Advisory Board Chairman of the MTSU College of Basic and Applied Sciences.

The City Schools Foundation invites the community to join Dr. Brown, his family, and the Foundation board for an evening of celebration and inspiration.

    The Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation recently funded a $62,972 project to refresh the Drs. Saraswat and Family Critical Care Waiting Room within the Gordon B. Ferguson CCU, replacing existing furniture to better serve patients and families. The new furnishings provide greater comfort and support for visitors who often spend long, emotional hours waiting, helping ease stress and anxiety during an especially vulnerable time. Read More
