Searching for an idea to raise funds for our local charities, the Community Foundation of Rutherford County (CFRC) hit the jackpot! They presented their first annual rodeo in March 2023 at MTSU’s Tennessee Miller Coliseum, and it was a huge success. The 2024 rodeo was an even bigger success. This two-night Lone Star Rodeo event, sponsored by Swanson Companies, included bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team, calf and breakaway roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding.

CFRC President Kelly Rollins, event Chair Paul Martin and other board members and friends worked tirelessly to make this event happen. Their mission is to promote philanthropy by identifying and addressing present and future community needs. Established in 2017, the CFRC promotes the betterment of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, and provides a way to make lasting gifts for the benefit of nonprofits in our community.
