STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY JOYCE TAYLOR
The City Schools Foundation Director Lisa Trail, her staff, event chair Rachel Ward and her committee executed an exemplary presentation of Excellence in Education to a substantial audience of supporters. Prior to the dinner at Copper Ridge Event Venue, guests convened for cocktails and networking. Following remarks by Foundation Chair Eric Newell and City Schools Director Trey Duke, community leader Dr. Andy Brown was recognized among a distinguished group of civic leaders honored in earlier years by the Foundation. Dr. Brown was selected for his significant contributions to education and the community. After a video featuring his friends, Dr. Brown, a long-standing local pediatrician, delivered extensive remarks on his educational experiences and recent federal-level changes. Chartered in 2005, the Foundation aims to enhance financial support for the City School system in science and mathematics, academic competitions, student excellence and to address financial equity across all schools.
