Women Veterans Wellness Fair

Story and photography by Joyce Taylor

Women Veterans and their spouses were invited to the National Guard Armory to spend the morning attending the second annual Women Veterans Wellness Fair. This year’s event focused on the VA’s new Whole Health Initiatives, Suicide Prevention and Intimate Partner Violence. The goal was to provide education and awareness on those topics, as well as build community partnerships with agencies that were present to support women veterans in Rutherford County.

Various speakers addressed the group including Liz McPhee, First Lady of MTSU, relating the benefits of the Daniels Veterans Center on the MTSU campus, assisting veterans and their families who have returned to attend the university.
