Sundresses and Stogies at Sunset

By Eric Lusk

Pi Gamma Gamma Foundation in association with the Murfreesboro Ques proudly hosted their 3rd Annual Sundresses and Stogies at Sunset Event. After almost two years of planning, the group developed the formula for their 2017 event. That year, the event welcomed close to 1000 guests. From there, things just got bigger and better. Their 2018 event moved to the Grove at Williamson Place and the crowds grew. And this year, dressed in their finest, with live entertainment, a cigar tent, and a variety food and drink vendors, the event topped out at over 1600 guests!

Sundresses and Stogies raises thousands of dollars used to go towards the many community outreach programs, scholarships and philanthropic organizations supported by the Pi Gamma Gamma chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity here in Murfreesboro.

August is the calendar month when summer begins its slow crawl towards autumn, but not before a few more hot days and thunderstorms. Enjoy the bounty of the season: vine-ripened tomatoes, ripe melon, sweet corn on the cob, and blueberries are just a few of my favorites. Luckily for us, Murfreesboro is blessed with one of the finest Farmer’s Markets in the state where we can do just that! Nothing screams summer better than a homecooked meal of fresh fruits and vegetables, locally grown and sold. Read More
  • Garage Barre + Bike

You may have noticed the corner of Church St and Vine St on Murfreesboro’s downtown square looks a little different. Inside these striped walls are barres, bikes, and a community that is flipping the idea of a “boutique fitness studio” completely upside down. Read More
