Stars and Pars

Story and photography by Cynthialynn Jones

The 6th Annual Stars and Pars seemed to remind Tennessee that it is truly spring. The skies parted and the glorious sun blessed more than 100 golfers in teams of four with a shotgun start and reminded all that Rutherford County is the best place to live, with so much to offer, such as great schools and wonderful golf courses like Champions Run in Rockvale.

Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Graham family, the 18-hole course offered a lovely day with glistening fairways, ponds and streams, a few sand hazards and crisp spring greens. After golf tournament, even more guests arrived for the annual fun day and BBQ. Children of all ages were treated to a variety of games, bounce houses, and a carnival atmosphere.
