Rutherford Heart Ball

Story and photography by Joyce Taylor

The Heart Ball is a premier, black-tie event benefiting the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Lori Sain-Smith of Daffodilly Design provided the elegant ambience in the ballroom of Embassy Suites. The record-breaking 600 guests enjoyed the auction, food and live music. Drs. Lucy and Warren Langworthy were the 2019 co-chairs, introducing Honoree Jimmy Jobe who credited Dr. Warren Langworthy for the fact that he was alive. Jobe introduced his wife Donna and expressed appreciation to his many friends and colleagues.

After the “Open Your Heart Appeal” supporting education, research and community awareness, the “late party” group arrived. They joined the other guests to dance the night away to the music of the Emerald Empire Band.
