Luncheon & Silent Auction

The Newcomers Club of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County recently held their monthly luncheon at the Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro. This lovely group of ladies gather each month with the intent of creating friendships and connections with other women in the community. The group understands that it isn’t easy moving to a new area, finding a new doctor, hairdresser, church, dentist, shopping, restaurants etc. So that is where Newcomers Club comes in. It is made up of women who were once new to the area, made friends, joined interest groups, helped with charitable events and most of all just had fun!

With over 120 members, there are a number of interest groups: Bead and Craft, Book Club, Bridge, Bunco, Couples Night Out, Day Trippers, Fifth Tuesday Brunch Bunch, Flick Chicks, Game Day, Garden Club, Horseback Riding, Mahjong and Quilting.

This months meeting featured an exciting silent auction, headed by Melanie Raz and Judy Boutiette. In addition to a variety of announcements, it was also revealed that the group had recently raised over $1000 for the Alzheimer’s Association!
