On a cool September evening, Hop Springs hosted a capacity crowd for Groovin’ in the Boro, a fundraiser supporting The Journey Home.  Event sponsors gathered early to enjoy appetizers and meet the singer/songwriters. Supporters enjoyed a barbeque dinner, followed by Blue Bird-style performances by Pam Tillis, Tricia Walker and Ashley Cleveland. The crowd enjoyed the stories told by the performers, especially the ones Pam Tillis told about Mel Tillis, her famous father. During the sing-alongs, the crowd knew every word to some of the songs.

Executive Director Scott Foster and Board President Roseann Barton stated that The Journey Home is a Christian ministry that serves the homeless and disadvantaged of Rutherford County by helping to rehouse and provide resources and relationships that encourage faith, economic stability, wholeness, and reintegration into community life. They encouraged donations and explained their impact.
