The Green Tie Affair and Casino Night

Story and photography by Joyce Taylor

Friends and supporters of The Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra, decked out in their fi nest green, gathered at Stones River Country Club and were greeted with the news that they were being evacuated from the ballroom due to tornado warnings. After a few minutes in the kitchen and men’s locker room, the party started. Guests enjoyed the Irish buffet, green beer and other beverages, then hit the black jack and roulette tables.

There was a silent auction as well as a “Wine Bottle Fundraiser,” with guests purchasing a ticket, then selecting a bottle of wine, the brand and type unknown until the wrapping was opened. Whether guests were big supporters of our fi ne Symphony orchestra, or just wanted an evening of fun, no one went wrong with selecting this modestly priced event.
