God Can Fundraiser

Story and photography by Eric Lusk

Judy Goldie and Melanie Davenport have long been philanthropists throughout our community. You will not meet two people more gracious, loving and giving.

Joel and Jeannie Bigelow started Endure Athletics (501c3) to help end childhood homelessness by breaking the cycle of generational poverty through relationships and mentorships.

This fantastic organization has helped kids throughout our area rise above their situation. G.I.R.L.S. Ranch is a non-profit, faithbased organization that is committed to working with girls, ages 9-17, in the middle Tennessee area who come from hard places founded by Shannon Ritchie. Girls are welcomed into the home and program through support groups, mentoring and retreats.

Judy and Mel recently opened their gorgeous home on the corner of N Maney and E Lytle for a fundraiser supporting Endure Athletics and GIRLS Ranch. Judy’s impeccable interior taste paired with Mel’s classic design combines to make this home an absolute showplace. Guests toured the home, enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks and live music entertainment in the courtyard.

At the end of the night, the event raised over $8,000 for the wonderful charities. The “God can” shirts, can still be purchased at Trendy Pieces on the square. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts continue to benefit them.
