What better way to spend a Saturday morning than opening your mind and helping others in need? Feed America First (FAF) recently opened back up their Saturday Serve & Learn volunteer events. With a new socially distanced layout, FAF welcomed individuals, families and groups small and large to their warehouse off John Bragg Highway. Volunteers sorted bulk food into distributable, family-sized portions, learned a little more about food waste, hunger relief, what FAF is doing about it and how they can become more involved.

Feed America First is a faith-based, 501(c)3 hunger relief organization, based in Murfreesboro. Their warehouse receives large-scale food donations and then, with the help of hundreds of volunteers every month, FAF divides and distributes the food to over 200 partner agencies (food pantries, shelters, etc.). The organization distributes over 1 million pounds of food to help feed 35,000 families!
