Dementia Education family night

Story and photography by Eric Lusk

Alzheimer’s and Dementia not only affect the individual with the condition, but can greatly affect the families coping with the disease. After a day visit from the Virtual Dementia Tour experience, AdamsPlace hosted a Family Night with special guest speaker Debbie Miller from Senior Helpers. With decades of experience in the field, Debbie gave caregivers and other family members the opportunity to gain a better understanding of Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other similar diseases. Light refreshments were served, a few laughs and a tear or two – as those there learned the “why” behind the behavioral changes and new strategies for successfully dealing with their loved one.

AdamsPlace, located at 1925 Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro, is affiliated with National Healthcare Corporation and offers a beautiful, caring facility for residential living, assisted living, memory care and more. For more information, please visit
