Be Happy Roller Skate Night

Story and Photography by Eric Lusk

About a year ago, a group of ladies who share the love of roller skating formed The Rockin’ Roller Queens. This women’s only Roller-Skating League usually meets at the Murfreesboro Skate Center West a couple times a month. These cool chicks jam to all best music and, in a judgement free zone, are free to be themselves.

Each gathering typically has a theme. This particular night was “be happy”, where the ladies displayed whatever it is that makes them happy. From superhero outfits to Harry Potter to 80’s memorabilia… this night had it all. It was a night of smiles, laughter, a little booty shakin’ on the skate floor – and most of all, a ton of fun!

The ladies are always looking to grow their numbers. So, if you are interested in finding out more, please visit their Facebook page, Rockin Roller Queens. They’d love to hear from you!
