Awards Ceremony Luncheon

Story by Joyce Taylor

Members and prospective members of the Colonel Hardy Murfree Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution gathered at Through the Grapevine for their November meeting. They enjoyed a buffet lunch and program on the City Cemetery Project, presented by Laura Bartel. Mrs. Bartel spoke about the rich history of this cemetery located on the 300 block of East Vine Street and how DAR could assist with the sustainable revitalization of the gravestones and monuments.

Regent Karen Hudson announced that Kory Wells is the recipient of the Women in Arts Award and that the Community Service Award recipient is Cindy Robinson for her work with the Girl Scouts. It’s apparent that this group is filled with hard-working members who make our community a better place to live.
