Gatsby Party

Story and photography by Eric Lusk

If you attended the 6th Annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Gatsby Party, you probably would agree – that the party seemed to hit a bigger, better, faster gear this year! Stunning views of the city from atop the new View at the Fountains was a definite plus, adding to all the glitz and glam. With Mayday beer and Jack Daniels drinks flowing, ladies flapping with their bobbed hairstyles, heavy action at the black-jack tables, party-people on the dance floor breakin’ it down, even grown men climbing into oversized Champaign glasses… this party had it all!

Our community is blessed with the outpouring of support for organizations that are truly making a difference, like the Alzheimer’s Association. Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. So while events like the Gatsby are a lot of fun, the most important aspect is that the proceeds raise money to help develop a cure.
