Locally Owned Murfreesboro (LOM) and Smyrna Independent Merchants Association (SiMA) recently honored a full slate of deserving businesses at the Sixth Annual Light Up Local Firefly Awards.

Held this year at The Historic Sam Davis Home in Smyrna, the Firefly Awards highlight the importance of supporting independent businesses by showcasing locally owned businesses in both Murfreesboro and Smyrna in carefully selected categories. During the spring, LOM and SiMA took nominations for independent businesses in Smyrna and Murfreesboro. The businesses with the most nominations won their respective category. The top honor of Business of the Year went to Boro Chiropractic in Murfreesboro and Janarty’s Homemade Ice Cream for Smyrna.

Both LOM and SiMA are dedicated to promoting the benefits supporting independent businesses to the community and building a stronger local economy by joining together in marketing, government advocacy and networking.
