Story and photography by Joyce Taylor

The rain did not deter the dedicated organizers of Downtown on the Farm! They just pivoted from an outdoor event to a fabulous event inside the beautiful Oaklands Mansion, with a TO GO option for those not comfortable with eating indoors.

Those who chose the indoor option were greeted with a selection of cocktails featuring Uncle Nearest, beer provided by Panther Creek Brews and sweet tea from Franklin Fruit Tea. Guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner provided by the Butchareon family from Bangkok Thai Cuisine, Shawn and Christy Hackinson from

The Alley on Main, Mitchell Murphree from Five Senses and Steakhouse Five, Slick Pig who provided the pulled pork and Chantell Kennedy-Shehan and Matthew Joseph from Simply Pure Sweets.

In you haven’t attended this event in the past, don’t miss it next year. You’ll see old friends and make new one.
