May 18, 2019, local artist Dawna Magliacano will host "unearthed: open studio show" at her home studios, Acorn Haven (8265 Lascassas Pike, Lascassas TN) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. She will host eight additional ceramic artists, along with officially debuting her own ceramic sculptures.  

Featured guest artist, Nelson Grice, is from Birmingham, Alabama area.  His work appears in galleries across the country.  In addition to showing work at the show, he is offering a one-day workshop on May 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. where he will be teaching his methods for sculpting a reclining animal figures. 

The other seven artists joining Magliacano are all from the mid-state Tennessee area and include: Kay Currie, James Carson, Crystal Shade, Kaitlin Savage, Robert Harvey, Chelsea Zachary and Gwen Copeland.  The show will feature only ceramic clay works in a variety of uniquely different approaches for sculpture and functional works by the artists. Magliacano is best known for her mixed media art; however, her work in clay is becoming more in demand though she has never shown it in an official capacity.
The show will offer the public a chance to focus their attention on ceramics, meet the artists and have light refreshments.
