This is a rare exhibit focusing on the Chinese qin, a seven-string fret-less zither, that was considered the highest form of music in China. The qin was studied and formed by literati for self-introspection and personal advancement. The exhibit will feature instruments, displays or demonstrations of instrument-making, calligraphy, the tea ceremony, sung poetry, and go (chess). Zhang Jinbing, the vocalist of ancient poetry at the Longren Guqin Culture Village in Fujian, China, will perform on March 12th from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
