Andie and Andy Ferguson

You could say that God decided these two were meant to be together. Their parents, Andrew and JereSue Cunningham, and Gordon and Cindy Ferguson, went to Madison Street Methodist Church together in Clarksville, Tennessee years ago. Andie Elisabeth Hubbard Cunningham and Andrew Lee Ferguson probably played together in the nursery at church when they were babies. Then both families moved away.

“You would think that would have been the end of it,” said Andie. “Surprisingly, I decided to go to University of Tennessee - Knoxville all the way from Kansas. So, we ended up meeting at my surprise birthday party and sat beside each other playing a game- it felt like we were the only two in the room. Come to find out, my cousin, Sarah Cunningham Jackson, babysat Andy."

Every detail was special to the couple and their families on their big day, August 10, 2019. The ceremony took place in the same church where Andy’s parents, Gordon and Cindy, were married. Will Acker, who leads Young Life in Knoxville, officiated at First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.

“There are a lot of important Andies,” said Andie. “My dad is also Andy. So, Andy gave Andie to be with Andy. Will did his best to keep straight which Andy/ie was which.”

Andie wore a simple and elegant v-necked gown with a fit and flair design, and a lace cathedral length veil which she borrowed from a friend. She carried a bouquet of palest roses and summer greens. The bridesmaid dresses were sage with styling of their own choosing.

For the reception, the couple envisioned a big dance party because they both love to dance. Plates were filled with comfort foods like macaroni and cheese, sliders, tacos, and mini hot dogs. Cups were filled with good signature drinks provided by Old Glory Distillery in Clarksville, Tennessee, which is owned by Andie’s cousins. It was all topped off with Andie’s favorite Bundt cake, and chocolate chip cookies.

They honeymooned at the Beloved Resort in Playa Mujeres, Mexico, and live in Knoxville, Tennessee.
