Top-Producing Loan Officer to Lead FirstBank Mortgage Teams

Brandon Burks has been named the Tennessee Regional Sales Manager for FirstBank Mortgage. He will lead the sales teams for FirstBank Mortgage’s 21 locations throughout the state.

Burks was most recently a loan officer for FirstBank Mortgage, serving the Murfreesboro market. He was FirstBank Mortgage’s sales leader in 2017 with a record of 340 units and $75.7 million in volume, for which he was named the Outstanding Producer of the Year and inducted into FirstBank Mortgage Chairman’s Club.

“Transitioning Brandon into this leadership role will be a big asset for our mortgage team,” said FirstBank President and CEO Chris Holmes. “Brandon has consistently executed record setting mortgage volume, led trainings for our sales teams in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping FirstBank Mortgage reach its team goals while providing excellent service to our customers.”

“Brandon has worked tremendously hard to earn this position,” said Wib Evans, President of FirstBank Ventures, which includes the mortgage division. “He spent 12 years as a championship basketball coach and math teacher at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro and has used his education experience to effectively work with customers through the home loan process. That approach is what made him a back-to-back top performer, both statewide and nationally.”

Burks has been ranked in the top 150 mortgage originators in the nation annually by the Scotsman Guide since 2014. He was awarded the Nashville Mortgage Bankers Diamond Award of Excellence each of the past three years, exceeding $50 million each year, and was named the 2017 and 2018 Ruthies Award winner for Favorite Mortgage Loan Officer in Rutherford County.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me, and I am thrilled about my increased role and helping expand our success across the region,” Burks said. “As a mortgage lender, I always want my customers to walk away feeling informed about their loan process.”

Originally from Woodbury, Tenn., Burks graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in business administration. Burks currently resides in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with his wife, Nicole, and their children, Addison and Colton.
