Under the direction of Coach Andy Herzer, First Shot Basketball programs enable children of all ages to participate in sports programs. The activities further equip kids with fundamental life skills  through mentoring programs in a Christ centered atmosphere.

The Annual Sneaker Ball raises funds for kids to attend sports camps, where kids of all sport levels learn valuable skills in a one on one program. This year featured guest speaker and author Don Yaeger and MTSU Men’s Basketball Coach Nick McDevitt. McDevitt discussed the necessity of character building programs such as First Shot Basketball. He also pledged to add further opportunities for youth to get involved in MTSU camps as well as MTSU players to lend a hand through youth coaching and mentoring programs.
