Smyrna Kids' Safety Day

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, the Town of Smyrna and the Smyrna Parks and Recreation Center hosted the inaugural Smyrna Kid’s Safety Day in May. This family-friendly community event was a day of fun and education, featuring many activities to teach parents and children about safety awareness.

Activities included a bike obstacle course, a visit by life flight, opportunities to learn about appropriate interaction with dogs and horses, a rock wall climbing, arts and crafts, and a dangerous driving simulations including giving kids the chance to experience what it is like to crash while harnessed in a seat belt Guest also experienced hunting safety seminars, tours of the fire safety house, gun safety, wellness education and a chance to complete child identification packets. There were also bike and bike helmet giveaways.

Lou Caputo, CEO of TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, said, “We look forward to increasing awareness of child safety issues through this hands-on educational day.”
