Rich Rucker

Rich Rucker, a partner with Rucker and Rucker, P.C., comes from a family with deep roots in the Rutherford County legal community. As a fourth-generation lawyer, there has been either a lawyer or judge from the Rucker family continuously serving Rutherford County since 1934.

Today, the firm consists of Rich and his father, Jock Rucker, and associate attorney, Stephen Aymett. The firm is primarily a civil defense firm, representing individuals, businesses and insurance companies in personal injury, property and workers’ compensation claims.

After attending college in Knoxville and law school in Memphis, Rich and his wife Ann Elizabeth made the decision to return to middle Tennessee to continue their careers and start a family. Their children are Will, who is seven, and Frannie, who is four.

Rich entered into the practice of law with his father and Toby Gilley, who currently serves as General Sessions judge in Rutherford County. Being able to walk into an environment to learn from two outstanding attorneys like Jock Rucker and Toby Gilley was a blessing not lost on Rich. Both individuals help shaped him into the lawyer, father and active Murfreesboro citizen that he is today.

Rich finds it challenging being in a profession where most of the contacts he makes in a given day are adversarial. However, those challenges- and achieving great results for his clients- are what makes his profession so satisfying. While he relishes the opportunity to take cases to trial, he always searches for amicable resolution of disputes outside the courtroom.

While not on the square or in the courtroom, you can find Rich on the golf course, in his garage building something or coaching youth on soccer, baseball and football fields in Murfreesboro.
