Providence Christian Academy Celebrates Growth

Providence Christian Academy has experienced unprecedented growth in student enrollment again this year. The total enrollment for students in PreK- 12th grade has increased nearly 40% over the past two years. PCA now has more than 530 students enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year.

“We are excited by the growth in enrollment and we recognize this as an amazing opportunity to engage even more students in an exceptional classical, Christian education experience,” states Dr. Bill Mott, PCA Head of School. “There are many factors that have led to the increase. One major factor has been word-of-mouth from our current families. Our current families are having such a positive experience that they are encouraging their friends to enroll at PCA.”

At the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, PCA experienced a 25% increase in enrollment from the year before. With the additional increase in enrollment for the 2018-2019 academic year, PCA is celebrating the second year of unprecedented growth.

“There are very few schools in the country that have experienced this level of growth in two years,” states Mott. “It’s a blessing to be located in such a thriving community and we look forward to continued growth. As we grow, we are also enhancing our academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities.”

In keeping with PCA’s mission and vision, PCA launched the Leadership Academy this academic year. The Leadership Academy’s school-wide program will strengthen Biblically- based leadership principles and practices that are already part of PCA’s ongoing culture and student experience. These leadership lessons will be woven into long standing PCA traditions such as peer mentoring, service projects, faculty advisory, and the Rhetoric School Hous System. Courses are planned for Upper School students with curriculum based on the works of well-respected Christian leadership authors such as John C. Maxwell, Jimmy Collins, Bonnie St. John, Eric Metaxas and others.

PCA is a member of TSSAA for all high school sports and MTAC for middle school sports. Athletic opportunities this year include twelve sports and more than thirty teams. PCA has won multiple middle school and high school athletic championships. In 2018, the PCA Lady Lions basketball team made school history by winning the TSSAA D2-A Middle Region District 1 Championship.

The Lady Lions basketball team also had an All-District Player of the Year and an All-State Player of the Year in 2018. Additionally, three PCA student athletes have been awarded college athletic scholarships.
