Editor's Letter

Summer is one long memory factory. File back through childhood highlights and many, if not most, are tied to summer: last day of school, sleep-away or day camps, the swim club or your neighbor’s backyard pool, the ice cream truck, Fourth of July fireworks, baseball games, family vacations. Although the fact that summer is here hasn’t changed, how we will spend the summer of 2020 has changed. With so many of the typical events canceled for this year, summer will look a bit different, as did spring. My hope is that you find a few minutes each day to enjoy this summer, in your own “adapted to COVID” way.

These memories could certainly be the ones that last the longest! Here at VIP, we are continuing to do what we do best – sharing GOOD NEWS! Just like everything else, it may look a little different, but there’s still plenty to share. Look inside for smaller events making the same large impact in our community, as well as announcements of new ways to continue to support without attending an event.

This issue also has a feature full of resources. You’ll get to “meet” lots of financial professionals within the community from the banking, mortgage and insurance industries. They will tell you “their story” and what makes them different in their industry. We also help you uncover a few places to “get out of the house” with our Day Trips After Quarantine story. I hope to hear from some of you about new places you visited after reading about these local treasures.

I hope that we are able to deliver a time of peace and smiles as you read through this issue during a time of such uncertainty. Keep sending us your good news and events so we can continue to share. Once again, thanks for your understanding and patience, keep safe, socially distant and sane!
