Deb Insell




Deb Insell is a native of Nashville but grew up in Woodbury, Tennessee. The wife of MTSU Women’s Basketball head coach Rick Insell, Deb is a graduate of Woodbury Central High School and a State Farm Insurance Agent in nearby Shelbyville.

Deb and Rick have three sons by birth Tom, Kyle, and Matt, plus three children of blood, Staci, Brandon, and Jake. They are affectionately known as “Mimi and Coach to 10 little grands!” “I am a 16-year agent for State Farm because, simply put, I love helping people,” she said. “I am state licensed in all lines of insurance as is my entire office team.”

Deb’s success in the industry has been earned over time due to her incredible work ethic. She worked hard and used her God-given talents in pursuit of her goal to help people help themselves by being a common-sense resource in a complex and ever-changing industry. Deb and Rick are very active in their communities. They enjoy Tennessee Walking Horses, MTSU Women’s Basketball games, vacationing with the entire family, and quiet time at home.

Deb has a servant’s heart, contributing her time to many worthy organizations. She serves on the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital Foundation Board, among many other projects and organizations. In addition to serving on the Foundation Board, Deb invests time with the Tennessee Walking Horse industry, the Shelbyville Lions Club, the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors, the Bedford and Rutherford County Chambers of Commerce, the American Red Cross Heart of Tennessee Chapter Board, the MTSU Jones College of Business Chair of Insurance Board, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Professionally, Deb says the mission of her team is to empower people with knowledge and products that translate to security.

“We hold ourselves accountable by providing unparalleled service and working enthusiastically toward our clients’ goals,” she said. “It’s my job to be certain that my part of America knows what it’s paying for and that it is protected from death, accident, illness or injury, and prepared for educating children, long-term care and retirement.”
