Central Magnet School Students Win Top Prize at MTSU Entrepreneurship Fair

Three sophomores from Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro emerged victorious at Middle Tennessee State University’s 2024 High School Entrepreneurship Fair. Their business, Fresh Check, employs artificial intelligence to combat global food waste. The competition, held in the Student Union Ballroom, featured 100 students from 60 groups across Middle Tennessee high schools, presenting innovative business ideas.

Organized by MTSU's Department of Management and the Pam Wright Chair of Entrepreneurship, the fair included two evaluation rounds. Finalists like JJ’s Outdoor Services from Franklin High School and Hidden Adventures from Brentwood and Centennial High Schools showcased their ventures. Sponsored by the Jennings and Rebecca Jones Foundation, the fair recognized winners with prizes up to $500.

Emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurial skills, MTSU's Department of Management offers undergraduate courses in various business disciplines, including Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This provides students with opportunities to develop skills and earn a Bachelor of Business Administration upon program completion.
