On a beautiful July evening, a large crowd gathered on the lawn of Oaklands Mansion to celebrate Main Street Murfreesboro’s A Taste of Rutherford. Guests enjoyed an array of delicious food and beverages from numerous local restaurants, making for a perfect night with friends and family. Thanks to the hard work of staff and volunteers, Executive Director Sarah Callender helped make the evening a standout success.

For more than 35 years, Main Street Murfreesboro has played a vital role in shaping the downtown district—leading efforts to bury utilities, improve sidewalks, install crosswalks and enhance beautification through landscaping and lighting. The organization also hosts popular community events like Friday Night Live, Downtown After 5, the Saturday Market and the annual Christmas tree lighting.
