Science On Tap

Story and photography by Joyce Taylor

The Nashville Section of the American Chemical Society sponsored its inaugural Science on Tap event at Mayday Brewery in the ‘Boro. A presentation by Vanderbilt professor Louise Rollins Smith on “Fun with Frogs in the Rainforest and What They Can Teach Us” (or “Turning Frogs into Princely Drugs”?) brought attention to Rainforest Adventure, the new exhibit which opened at the Discovery Center in May. What better way to learn about science than to sip beer at Mayday while eating dinner, purchasing from the food truck?

The staff at the Discovery Center is always creative, finding something to interest everyone. To learn more about The Discovery Center and their upcoming events (including the Secret Garden Party and Garden Tours), visit www.explorethedc.org.
