Puckett’s roots go back to the 1950s with a grocery store in Leiper’s Fork. Puckett’s offers an intimate, laid back atmosphere so that you can feel as comfortable as if you are in your own home while dining. They offer authentic comfort food such as smoked Cherrywood barbecue, home cooked sides and some upscale dishes. Puckett’s uses local farmers and purveyors when possible. Their barbecue was named in the top 100 best barbecue restaurants in America.
Along with an award-winning menu, Puckett’s provides southern hospitality and offers live pickin’ performances. They plant roots within specific communities and contribute to the local economy within those communities.  Murfreesboro will join the current Puckett’s locations in downtown Franklin, downtown Nashville, downtown Columbia and downtown Chattanooga.

Hattie Jane’s Creamery

Hattie’s Jane’s, an extension of the Puckett’s brand, is an artisan ice cream shop coming to Murfreesboro. The shop offers creative ice cream flavors that change based on availability and ingredients from local farms and vendors including Muletown Roasted Coffee and Hatcher Family Dairy Milk.  

Hattie Jane’s waffle cones, baked treats and many of their toppings are made in-house and from scratch. They even have a Swirl Freeze ® machine that allows customers to create their own blended flavors providing endless opportunities.  Take home pints are also available.

Jack Brown’s Beer andBurger Joint

Jack Brown’s, the brain child of a craft beer lover and a chef, is a bar that sells a great burger. They serve ranch-to-table Wagyu Beef burgers. Jack Brown’s menu is purposefully simple and is home to burgers named The Elvis, topped with peanut butter, mayo, bacon and cheese, The Jalapeno Popper, topped with cream cheese and pickled jalapenos and The Greg Brady, topped with house-made mac n’ cheese and BBQ potato chips.
Each day they offer specialty burgers that you can finish off with a deep fried Oreo. Jack Brown’s has a large selection of craft beers ranging from locals to beers from around the world.
Originating in Harrisonburg, VA, Murfreesboro will be the second location in TN. The current location is in the Germantown neighborhood in Nashville.  The Murfreesboro joint is slated to open in the fall of 2016.

The Gavel Grill and Speakeasy

The Gavel, aptly named due to its proximity to Murfreesboro’s historic courthouse, is a brand new grill and speakeasy tailored toward celebrations, an elegant night out or a professional business lunch.

The Gavel, with its appealing atmosphere and downtown charm, serves entrees such as steaks, pork chops and seafood. Their bar boasts craft cocktails made with in-house recipes served speakeasy, or high-end-custom-made style.

The restaurant features a bar with a cocktail lounge specifically designed for guests to enjoy unique spirits.  The menu has an array of items such as unique appetizers, salads, sandwiches and hearty entrees like cooked-to-order steaks, pork chops, braised lamb and many more.

Dallas &Jane

Dallas & Jane is a new restaurant and private event space planned for the square in Murfreesboro.  The restaurant will feature contemporary American fare with heavy influences in Southern and French cuisine. The space will be open for rehearsal dinners, pop up dinners, guest chefs, concerts, cooking classes and micro receptions.

Much of the food will be locally sourced and the menu will be quality v. quantity based.  The boutique-style menu will contain eight items, two starters, one soup, three entrees and two desserts.  Members from the design team that brought Nashville’s Barista Parlor, 506 Lofts and Butcher and Bee to life are collaborating on Dallas & Jane.

At The Fountains at Gateway:


Tom+Chee, serves comfort food for the kid at heart. They add an original twist on the classic staple meal, grilled cheese and tomato soup.  Their made-fresh menu offers anything from build-your-own grilled cheese options to a vegetarian hippy chee with hummus, cucumber, mixed greens, tomato and cheese or a grilled cheese served on a glazed donut.

They also offer three types of tomato soup along with a soup of the day.  Their meats and dressings are made in house and they have options for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan patrons.  Tom+Chee is designed with the entire family in mind.

Burger Republic

Burger Republic, an original and “fiercely independent” concept that specializes in gourmet burgers, craft beers and hand-spun milkshakes, is coming to the Fountains at Gateway in Murfreesboro.

Burger Republic’s home-grown, made-from-scratch kitchen produces 100 percent fresh, certified Angus Beef which is ground using a combination of cuts including brisket, chuck and short rib.  They use local and regional products such as Benton’s bacon and Charpier’s brioche buns.  For non-beef eaters Burger Republic offers a ground turkey burger, an Ahi Tuna burger, all-natural chicken breast filet and a red bean vegetarian patty. They offer many hearty sides along with mixed salads and a vegetable of the day.
Burger Republic has 30 rotating craft beers on tap and over 25 milkshakes with ice cream that is handspun and made in house. The Murfreesboro location will be the fourth in the Nashville area.

Brixx Wood Fired Pizza

Brixx, with current locations in Cool Springs and Hendersonville, is best known for their wood-fired pizza. Their brick ovens enhance the natural flavor of the ingredients while giving the pizza a wood-fired taste.  Their menu features anything from a Cubano pizza with citrus-marinated pulled pork, prosciutto and mozzarella and fontina cheese to a Pimento cheese pizza with jalapeno pimento cheese, roasted red peppers, crumbled bacon and fresh spinach.  
The full service restaurant also offers sandwiches, salads, pasta and desserts using locally grown ingredients when possible.  Brixx has vegan and vegetarian options along with whole-wheat and gluten free crust. They offer local and national beers and an extensive wine collection.
