Springhouse Theatre - 14119 Old Nashville Highway, Smyrna
Traditions are a significant part of the way we experience the joy of the Christmas season. Make a visit to Bedford Falls one of your traditions as you share in the classic telling of the full- stage version of It’s a Wonderful Life.
Today It’s a Wonderful Life has achieved holiday icon status, and is portrayed on television, on the radio, and in stage plays across the country. This holiday season Lamplighter’s Theatre invites you to take a nostalgic trip back in time to Bedford Falls, where a man who believes he has nothing to live for encounters an angel who just wants to earn his wings.
It’s a Wonderful Life is the holiday season offering of the Middle Tennessee-based theatre company’s 2016-2017 season, and this production takes on new life as it features some old friends, familiar faces and newcomers to the cast. Springhouse Theatre Company veteran Daryl Fulton reprises his role as the crotchety and despicable Mr. Potter. T.J. Haynes (an audience favorite as ‘Ali Hakim, the Peddler’ in Oklahoma!) plays Clarence, the hapless angel who wants to help George (and earn his wings). And Springhouse Theatre newcomer Brad Brown takes on the pivotal role of George Bailey. This year’s production has the added distinction of being directed by David Smith, who served as Professor of Theatre at Evangel University for more than 36 years.
It’s a Wonderful Life runs for two weekends only - December 9-11 and 16-18. Showtimes are 7:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:30 pm on Sundays. For the comfort of all our patrons, children under the age of 4 years are not admitted into the theatre.
