2016 Summer Camp Listing: Lots More

What an amazing array of activities our Rutherford County community offers to our children with enrichment camps of all kinds! Summer doesn’t have to be a time to regress, but instead can be a time to inspire, unplug and recharge, and illuminate the possibilities for their futures. The following camps are offered within Rutherford County for all ages and interests. But do plan ahead, many registrations start soon and classes will fill up. Take advantage of these amazing opportunities!

CAMP ABILITY OF SPECIAL KIDS
Camp Ability of Special Kids is a Christian, summer day camp in Murfreesboro, TN for children and youth with special needs ages 6-25. The seven-week camp is held at North Blvd. Church of Christ in the months of June and July each year. Camp Ability’s focus is on Jesus Christ andallowing children and youth with special needs to participate in an interactive, social, and just plain fun environment. Our counselors emphasize children’s abilities rather than disabilities and find ways for all campers to participate in activities. Campers have the option to attend in June, July, or both months. Registration is first come first serve and fills up quickly.

CAMP BORO
Week-long summer camp experience for MCS Special Education Comprehensive development students in grades 1-6. Includes special vents, visitors, games, arts, activities and so much more for students with special needs. Campsite: Northfield and Scales Elementary. June 6-10. 7am – Noon.

CAMP FORGET ME NOT – ALIVE HOSPICE
Camp Forget-Me-Not is available for grieving kids in Rutherford, Bedford, Cannon, Coffee and Dekalb counties. Camp will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. June 4-6. $30/participant.

CURIOUS KITCHEN
Future chefs warm up the kitchen as they are taught the finer points of food preparation, keeping a clean work space, recipes and measuring ingredients… all while having fun! Each class is all hands-on cooking. During the last half hour of class everyone sits down to enjoy the food that they’ve prepared. The weeks are designed with a theme in mind - no two weeks are the same ~ sign up for as many weeks as you’d like. Jun 6-10 Let’s Bake. June 13-17 Foods of the World. June 20-24 Everything Italian. MTSU INTRODUCTION TO AVIATION SUMMER CAMP

MTSU PROFESSIONAL PILOT ADVANCED CAMP
A three day flight oriented aviation camp conducted by MTSU Aerospace Dept. for students who have completed the Introduction to Aviation Camp and are interested in receiving more flight training. This will allow students the opportunity to discover if they would enjoy a collegiate flight training program. June 13-15. 9am- 3:30 pm. MTSU Jean A Jack Flight Education Center at Mufreesboro Municipal Airport. $575 for 1.5 hours of flight time or $775 for 2.5 hours of flight time.
