What an amazing array of activities our Rutherford County community offers to our children with enrichment camps of all kinds! Summer doesn’t have to be a time to regress, but instead can be a time to inspire, unplug and recharge, and illuminate the possibilities for their futures. The following camps are offered within Rutherford County for all ages and interests. But do plan ahead, many registrations start soon and classes will fill up. Take advantage of these amazing opportunities!

1ST SHOT SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMP
Sports can teach a tremendous lesson in life skills to young kids. Every summer, First Shot summer camps help participants become more focused, more passionate, more knowledgeable and more confident in their abilities. June 6-9 Ages 5-9. July 10-14 Ages 10-14. 9am - 3:30pm. $175/child before June 1.

AMERICAN RED CROSS GUARD START CAMP AT SPORTS COM
Become an American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard. At this camp you will learn First Aid, CPR, water rescues, and you will be able to tell your friends you are a certified Junior Lifeguard! You will receive an official Jr. Guard Shirt. This course does not make you CPR certified, but the basics of CPR will be taught. Ages: 11-14. Dates: Camp 1 – June 13-17; Camp 2 – July 11 – 15. 9am - Noon. Drop off between 8 - 9 am. $40 + $10 Activity Fee.

Blackman is the home of the 2014 AAA State Champions. This camp run by Barry Wortman is for ages Kindergarten – 8th grade. July 12-14. 9am - Noon. $60.

CHEER CAMP AT SPORTS COM
Come get the Cheer Spirit at Cheer Camp. We will have experienced cheer instructors to teach the beginning cheerleader or the more advanced. Your little cheerleader will be learning chants and cheers, tumbling, choreographed dance, and most importantly, fun. The week will end with a show for all family and friends to see what their cheerleader has learned.  Ages: 8 – 14. July 25 – 29. 8am - Noon. $40 + $10.00 activity fee.

JIM MCGUIRE SUMMER BASEBALL CAMP
The Total Fundamental Camp has a limited enrollment policy that guarantees quality instruction and playing time for all that attend. Our goal is not only to help each camper to become a better baseball player, but each one to become a better player in life. We stress fundamentals in all aspects of the game along with team and individual discipline. Our instructors will cover hitting and pitching mechanics, defensive situations, base running, and basic knowledge of the game. Ages 6-12. $200. June 6-9. Reese Smith, Jr. Field.

MTSU KERMIT DAVIS MEN’S BASKETBALL CAMPS
The Kermit Davis Basketball Camp is a fun environment for campers of all ages. Each player will learn the fundamentals of the game along with specialized instruction in shooting, defense, ball-handling, and rebounding. Each camper will take the skills that he has learned and apply them in fun, competitive areas such as one-on-one games, bump competition, hot shot, and free throw contests. The Kermit Davis Basketball Camp also features an expert staff of coaches and instructors dedicated to helping each camper reach his or her full potential. The staff is comprised of some of the best college and high school coaches in the area along with current and former Blue Raider players.

MTSU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CAMPS
LIL RAIDER CAMP Open to girls age 5 to students entering 8th grade. Daily instruction given by MTSU players and coaching staff on the skills needed to be a successful basketball player. Every player will get a report card at the end of camp showing their progress and tips for improvement. $100. June 6-7.
TEAM CAMPS Open to Middle School, Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity High School girls teams. Team camps allow coaches to play games inside Murphy Center and schedule to the level of competition they prefer. On campus housing and dining available. Team Registration Fee $150. Overnight $195/player. Commuters $110/player. June 8-10, June 20-22, or June 22-24.

MTSU RHODEN SOCCER ACADEMY
THE JUNIOR RAIDERS CAMP is designed for boys and girls and will serve to enhance each player’s technical ability and tactical awareness in small sided games. Camp covers most soccer techniques and defensive principles. Junior Raiders Camp June 13-17. 5-7pm Boys and Girls Ages 5-10. $100
GIRLS DAY CAMP is several days of soccer training designed to help every female player achieve new levels of technical expertise and tactical understanding. Girls Day Camp June 13-17 9am-Noon. Girls Ages 10-17. $150
GIRLS COLLEGE ID CAMP is for the competitive female player striving to play at the collegiate level. Designed to simulate the MTSU collegiate training environment and to give the players the tools needed to be successful at the college level. Girls College ID Camp July 16. 9am -  4pm. MTSU SPORTS CAMP – CAMPUS RECREATION
Learn a variety of sports, leisure and fitness activities. The camps also provide opportunities to learn crucial life skills, including good sportsmanship, the value of regular exercise and how to work together as a team. Boys and Girls Ages 7-13. Weekly camps starting May 31 through end of July. No camp 4th of July week. $170/week. Daily Drop In $40/day. Includes all activities and lunch. Discounts for multiple weeks. SPORTS CAMP AT SPORTS COM
At Sports Camp, participants ages 8-14, explore a variety of sports and activities from the traditional to the unconventional. Emphasis is on sportsmanship, good attitudes, teamwork and fun. Children will play sports like dodge ball, flag football, kickball, softball/baseball, and floor hockey along with many other active games.  They will also enjoy a fun afternoon of swimming in the Sports Com pool. Ages: 8-14. Dates: June 13 – 17, June 20 – 24, June 27 - July 1, July 11 – 15, or July 18 – 22. Drop off between 8-9am. Pick up between 4-5pm. $40 + $10 Activity Fee.

WILSON TENNIS CAMP AT MTSU
Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camps returns to Middle Tennessee State University for two weeks of camp in 2016. The camp, directed by coach Jimmy Borendame, Head Men’s Coach at MTSU, will include overnight, full day and half day options at each week. In addition to 5.5 to 6 hours of training on the courts, the coaches emphasize a fun, learning environment, social and recreational activities daily.
June 12-16 or June 19-23. Overnight Option Sunday 2pm –Thursday 4pm $635. Full Day Option Monday – Thursday 9am – 4pm $355. Half Day Option Monday – Thursday 9am – Noon $235.
